Is there a difference between Zoology and Animal Science classes?
Q. I want to go to UK, but they don't offer any 'Zoology' classes. They do, however, offer 'Animal Science' classes. Although Zoology is the study of animals, is there a difference? If so, what? The University of Kentucky

A. In my University in Canada, Animal Science is focused on domestic animals and is what most people take if they are going to attempt to get into Veterinary medicine. Zoology focuses on more diverse animals as well as how they interact with their environment. For instance, Animal Science majors here do not need to take Ecology. Zoology also focuses alot on the research aspect and teaches you how to design scientific experiments and write scientific papers.
