What services should I get for my vehicle on a regular basis?
Q. I recently got my oil changed and they were offering many other services, such as cleaning the fuel injectors, etc. I would like to know which services do I actually need to get and how frequently do they need to be preformed? Also, if you happen to know approximately how much these services should cost, that would be great too. My car is only 2006, if that matters. Thank you!

One must look at a modern engine as a giant air pump. so lubrication is key to keeping parts from wearing out to fast. Oil changes air filters quality gasoline and manufactures recommended service items like transmission drain and fills differential oil changes (timing belts) if equip. Most modern cars not have non serviceable wheel bearings but the brake pads wear down and rotors need resurfacing or replacing when worn thin. Tires on modern cars last 30,000 to 60,000 miles. Do social services have the rights to put an elderly person in a home without that persons permission?
Q. My elderly grandma as been in hospital 2 weeks & the doctor agreed to let her home. However the family as been arguing over aftercare arrangements & 1 family involved social services. Social services will be placing my grandma in a residential home but she doesnt want to! Are they aloud to do this? What action can we take to stop this?

A. Even if your grandma gave the family member who wants to put her into a home a medical power of attorney, she can revoke that if she is of sound mind. There is a concern about who will provide adequate care for your grandmother when she comes home from the hospital. Depending on her conditions, provisions can be made for home care. Contact your local senior services office to ask what sort of support they can offer. Does someone need to be with your grandmother all the time? If so, can the ones who want to help her stay at home take turns? Social service people in the hospital seem to want to push the elderly into nursing homes right away. A. if you mean to work in the DCD (Department for Community Development) you would probably end up as a social worker for foster care... my parents are foster carers and we deal with alot of social workers it is a highly demanded job for the only reason that they have such a high turn over... it is a really stressfull job and you have an extremely heavy case load... my foster siblings are 7, 3 and 6 months and they have already gone through 5 social workers and they have only been in care for 3 years... so yeah is a highly demanded job but it obviously isnt worth it or they would stay longer... we are in desperate need for good social workers so i commend you for your choice... god knows my social worker is buried under piles of paper work...… [cont.]
